A boring face :)
Yesterday, I drove my car to Kuala Selangor Nature Park (Taman Alam Kuala Selangor). It was a two hours drive from Kuala Lumpur via Sungai Buloh (Route 54) . A pleasant and smooth journey all the way. This is my first time exploring a mangrove forest. My expectations were sky high - hoping to see mudskippers and capturing those elusive king crabs with my Nikon D60 camera.
I parked my car at the entrance of the visitor centre and purchased an adult entrance ticket for RM4. I spent some time in the visitor centre analysing a medium-sized model illustrating different parts of the secondary forest. The forest is HUGE! Kuala Selangor Nature Park is divided into Brackish Water Lake System, Secondary Forest and Mangrove forest.
I took THREE HOURS to explore the entire park. It was a hot and humid day. The best thing about the park is the two man-made mangrove walkways. The wooden walkways sponsored by HSBC Malaysia is the BEST. This walkway cut across the vast mangrove land. I can see lots of crabs and mudskipper. I even brave myself and 'jump' into these muddy mangrove soil just to look at this wonderful mudskipper. These amphibians are really CUTE! Talking about UP CLOSE & PERSONAL!
Overall, I had a good day in Kuala Selangor Nature Park.

@Ade Ying,
Are your sure??? Got to try it next time! By the way why is it salty??
Cheers!
mylo
hey teach where did u go? macam like u just disappeared... LOL
yeah im very sure because i organised an overnight trip there once with my students and the ranger actually showed us by licking it! but i cant remember why is it salty!! maybe its because of the nearby sea (salt water, evening tides and of course the plants will be submerged in the water and hence absorbed all the salts?? LOL my own theory :P
@AdeYingProven theory :)
Cheers!
