A captive wild monkey placed in a cage awaiting relocation. I need to zoom through those tiny little holes on the cage to capture this picture.

A few days back, I googled for Taman Pertanian Malaysia, Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam (Malaysia Agricultural Park) to find articles and pictures about the place. I found some blog posting. It seems there is no official website on Taman Pertanian Malaysia - SAD!!!!

I was half-hearted and not sure whether the place is worth a visit. It sounds like a mundane place to me after reading numerous blog articles. I decided to pay a visit and see for myself. The thing that caught my attention is the size of the park - A WHOPPING 1,295 HECTARE (one of the largest tropical rainforest and agricultural park in the world). I downloaded the direction (via Google Maps) into my hand phone.

It was 1 and 1/2 hour drive from Petaling Jaya via LDP highway. (P.S - According to Google Maps, the park is a 35 minutes drive from Petaling Jaya). I lost my way trying to find Persiaran Kayangan. It's pretty difficult to find Taman Pertanian Malaysia due to insufficient signage. Other than that, I HATE driving in Shah Alam, Selangor - far too many confusing roundabouts. The local municipal council can do a better job!

I parked my car and proceeded to the ranger office to request a map. The map is very informative. It listed out over 43 attractions that include:
a) Paddy field
b) Cocoa plantation
c) Fruits garden (durian, starfruit, dragon fruit, coconut, ciku, rambutan and cempedak)
d) Cactus garden
e) Rabbit park
f) Bird park
g) Hydroponic park
h) Four Season House
i) Flying fox
j) Spice garden
k) Ornamental garden and more.........

Remember to follow my second, third and fourth post for specific reviews and more pictures.

  8. AdeYing,

Junior was feeling 'trapped' wanna join the rest. I was able to observed junior for at least 40 minutes. He/she was displaying lots of emotion and behaviour that are very similar to us!

The uphill part is MAD!!! It was my first time riding a bike since I was a kiddo. BTW, loving 'hubby' there :)

FOUR SEASON HOUSE? Got, Aiyah....lousy four season house. Wasted my RM3. The exhibit is limited and the place is SMALL. The only good thing is the cold air circulating in the house.

    Cheers!
