Title: CHOP & BURN - Mangrove Charchoal
Location: Charchoal Factory, Kuala Sepetang, Perak, Malaysia
Date: 4 June 2009, 12:17pm
Camera: Nikon D60 with Aperture: f/6.3, ISO Equiv.: 100

This picture was taken at one of the charcoal factories in Taiping, Perak. There were thousands of freshly harvested mangrove logs stacked on the factory wall. Earlier, I obtained oral permission from one of the Chinese Boss to snap some personal photos. I still remember it was a hot afternoon. I put my left hand trying to estimate the diameter of the log before pushing the camera button to snap this picture. It was an easy shot. I LOVE the outcome of this picture because it has numerous logs all stacked together in random order. Some of these logs were less than 10cm in diameter. These uneven stacking create a nice composition.
