This alpha male (wild monkey) decided to go away after lunging on me on a surprised 'attack' He was fierce like a TIGER! Half of my size :(
I did not expect to see an animal park in Taman Pertanian Malaysia, Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam (Malaysia Agriculture Park). It is a small animal park with a collection of horses, ponies, birds and deers. Entrance is FOC. There is also a big group of wild monkeys 'invading' the animal park.
The forest rangers are taking steps to control the monkey overpopulation. Makeshift traps are being set up to catch and relocate these wild monkeys back to nature. The method of capturing these primates is very humane. The forest rangers leave a large open cage with peanuts as baits. When the cage senses any slight movement, the door will shut down automatically.
While I was observing these wild monkeys, I saw a huge ALPHA MALE (half of my size) resting on an open grassy field. I approached it discreetly to take some close-up shots. Suddenly, I was taken aback when the alpha male launch a lunge attack on me. It was 'running' towards me and displayed his treasured canine teeth. It was a real SHOCKER to me. I was scared to death worrying sick whether I'll be bitten by this aggressive primate.
I took a few steps back and stood still instead of running away (backwards). The alpha male was 20cm in front of me and it stopped chasing me. That was C.R.A.Z.Y!!! If I've gotten hold a piece of stick, I will whack him nicely - nah I'm just joking. I've learnt my lesson. Never underestimate these wild animals.
Remember to walk further until you reached the kayak bay. There are hundreds of large-sized beautiful water lilies flowers. I had to squat down as close as possible to get some really nice photos. It was a tiring effort but the outcome is good.
Remember to follow Part 4 for reviews and pictures about Mushroom and Hydroponic Park.
I like to read your post here about Taman Pertanian Bukit Cahaya,Shah Alam.It was a good source of information too for me to know more about this beautiful place.I thought the funniest part on this post is when the part you we're being chased by the wild monkey,it's really making me laugh, you're so funny but yes,it is true we should be careful with wild animals specially when we're on their territories.Overall,it was fun to read your posts about this park and I'm thinking of visiting it with my family one day, that's all I want to say and keep writing posts about interesting places you've visited and take a great photos to share with us :)
