At least 7 - 10 stalls in Chinatown selling tropical fruits. Quite pricey.

This photo was taken at the chestnut stall. A worker was seen busy scooping and stirring the chestnut in a huge steamer. I wanted to snap some photos of the worker in action...but decided otherwise. There are lots of picture opportunity at Chinatown. Unfortunately, 90% of the traders in Chinatown (either locals or foreigners - such as Banglas) are apprehensive and not willing to be part of the photo. In addition, they do not want any pictures of their pirated merchandise. I have to do it discreetly. Most of the time the reception from these traders are negative.

Bags, bags and bags. It's endless. Over 20 stalls selling bootleg branded bags...including GUCCI, CHANNEL, CK, PRADA, FENDI, LIZ...

Title: Creative

The most innovative and creative merchandise in Chinatown. I like the cartoonish prints on the bag. Different types of design. Good to go for kiddos and teenagers alike.

A close-up shot of some bags. Look like leather bag. Dirt cheap!

A heaven for pirated stuff. You name it, they have it. NIKE, ADIDAS...whatever.

It's been a long time since I last visited Chinatown. So, I took a bus to Kuala Lumpur Chinatown to take some photos. I have high hopes for getting some really good photos. The weather is good, lots of sunshine and also a better Chinatown with renovated aisle.

Unfortunately, my entire trip to Kuala Lumpur Chinatown is a total wreck. The traders are rude, unfriendly and hostile to local and foreign visitors. Some of them even look like a crook preying for easy target. I read so much about the lousy customer service in Chinatown. Today, I witness it myself and it really turn me off 100%. I don't think I am returning to Chinatown any time soon. Even now, only few visitors in Chinatown due to widespread word of mouth about the bad reputation there.

Taking photos in Chinatown is virtually impossible. I was approached by at least two traders trying to intimidate me about my photography work. Come on people! The whole world know about Chinatown as the heaven to pirated stuff. I don't understand why are they being such a parochial prick! Even the Banglas manning the stall can be a bunch of ill-mannered people. Hopeless.
This kind of attitude is not going to work in long term. They are complaining about lack of business and visitors...but do they reflect back "Whose fault is it?" That is why I say "Kuala Lumpur CHINATOWN - A Forgettable Trip!
