I think this female monkey is suffering from cataract. Interestingly, the partial clouded vision is not a hindrance for this female to take care of her young baby.

Well, this is the last part of my Malawati Hill collection. Actually, I have over 400++ pictures in this series. I carefully selected these pictures to be uploaded on my blog. It's not an easy task at all. There are so many other interesting photos.
PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT feed any of these monkeys. I just waited for opportunity to snap these wonderful moment.
Monkeys eating ice cream wafer? That is INSANE!! Actually, there is an ice cream seller at Malawati Hill. The lad manning the ice cream stall is a teenager. But, how come these ice cream wafer end up eaten by these primates?

Well, I heard an Indian lady shouting "Ahhhhh!!!!" So, I turned my back and discovered a monkey snatched a plastic bag full of ice cream wafer. That monkey quickly run back to the hillside and distributed the wafers to others. That is how I got these monkeys in A.C.T.I.O.N :)

  5. Excellent and thought-provoking. Looking at primates always elicits the question: Why did they miss out in the grand evolutionary scheme of things?

  7. @Roger,

It was not easy nor difficult shots. The silver leaf monkeys were a bunch of 'good mannered' primates. Unlike those cynolmogus monkey in Batu Caves. Some of these silver leaf monkeys behaved like domesticated pets...lying on the floor looking innocent :)

    Cheers!

  9. I enjoy the shots of the monkeys. Very evocative. At Fraser's Hill, a thieving monkey sneaked into our living room to steal our unattended rambutan! Then, another huge male monkey, balancing on electric cables, showed off his reproductive prowess much to the amusement of the homo sapiens below.

  11. @Roger,

That's funny :) A thieving monkey and an exhibitionist primate.

Normally, I avoid direct contact with cynomolgus monkey - typical fierce looking beruk. These monkeys are aggressive. I was nearly attacked by a big sized alpha male in Malaysia Agriculture Park.

Silver leaf monkeys look fierce but tame and 'friendly'. You can even hold their hands and pat on their forehead. Just like orang-utan.

    Cheers!
