Title: CHOP & BURN - Mangrove Charchoal
Location: Charchoal Factory, Kuala Sepetang, Perak, Malaysia
Date: 4 June 2009, 12:17pm
Camera: Nikon D60 with Aperture: f/6.3, ISO Equiv.: 100

I've just returned from Ipoh city driving at max 110km/hr virtually non-stop. I'm sleepy, tired and my head is still spinning.

I had sleepless nights in Ipoh. I did not realize my budget hotel was surrounded with karaoke bars, massage parlours and disco centres. Now, don't get me wrong. The budget stay in Shanghai Hotel was a good bargain with two beds and a bathroom cum toilet.

On ladies night (Thursday), loud and heavy disco dance music was blaring up to 1.00am. By Friday night, Canto pop songs were played into the wee hours. Better choice of music. I don't mind as long as the song is soothing. But, hell breaks loose by 2.00am. I was woken up by a commotion on the street. A free for all fighting on the street that last for nearly two hours! Drunken guys were shouting, punching and cursing in the middle of the night. It lasts for two long hours before policemen arrived. The childish brawl reminds me of Young & Dangerous the movie.

But despite all that, I still had a great time in Perak. Taiping is a nice and relaxing town. But, Ipoh city was so busy. I hate the traffic over there. There are way too many one way street in Ipoh. It's so FUNNY :)

Coming Soon....Post 2 - All About Malaysia's Largest Mangrove Forest + the one and only Charcoal Factory in Kuala Sepetang.

Yeah! It's 'crazy'. The morning rush in Ipoh is exactly like KL :) I lost my way many times trying to return back to my budget hotel because there are too many one way road. I got to make a long....................U TURN and finally lost my way again :)

By the way, I tasted Mee Udang Mak Jah as recommended. Nice thick gravy with extra large prawns. You know what? I was granted exclusive rights to cover their story!!! YIPEE!!!
